Schloß Neuschwanstein
The castle of King Ludwig II was built in 1868 on a rugged hill against a picturesque mountain scenery. It was prompted by the idea of rebuilding an existing ruin "in the authentic style of the old German knights castles". The "fairy - tale" castle is only approx. 34 km away from Wertach. Guided tours are availabe in 35 minute intervals in german, englisch or
another 11 different languages via audioguide.

Linderhof Palace and Park
The "Royal Villa" of Ludwig II. originated as a hunting lodge belonging to his father Maximilian II. It was enlarged between 1870 - 1872 and in 1874 the palace was completed with the Hall of Mirrors and Staircase and furnished in the style of the "second Rococo" period.
The waterworks in the Royal Garden take place from early April through to the middle of October daily from 9am - 6pm in 30 minute intervals. In winter only the palace and not the park buildings can be visited.
Guided tours are availabe in approx. 25 minute intervals in english or various other languages on request.

Wieskirche

The "Wieskirche" is considered one of the most beautiful "rococo" churches in Southern Germany. Already in the 18th century the "Wies" - Church was well known throughout Europe, because it's rococo art reached a unique perfection. It was given international recognition, when it was inscribed by UNESCO, the culture organization of the UN, as a cultural site on the World Heritage List.
